HOW IT WORKS
Everything you need to rule the abyss — the food chain, the ladders, the weekly $WHALE prize pot, and the relic hunt. Playing is 100% free. We gate the prize, never the play.
PLAY NOWINTRODUCTION
WHALEWARS is a deep-sea battle arena that runs in your browser — no download, no install, no sign-up. You spawn as plankton, eat everything smaller than you, and evolve up the crypto food chain until you're the apex predator or someone else's lunch.
Around the game sits a real weekly prize: every $WHALE trade generates creator fees, and half of every fee goes straight into a pot that pays the week's best players on-chain. Your skill earns your rank; holding a small stake of $WHALE is the only thing that makes that rank prize-eligible.
FOUR STEPS TO THE POT
PLAY FREE
Jump in from any browser. No wallet, no sign-up, no purchase. Eat, evolve, fight.
CLIMB THE BOARD
The weekly Survival gauntlet is the money ladder — your best verified run of the week is your entry. Ranked FFA sharpens you and moves your MMR.
LINK & HOLD
Connect a Solana wallet and hold at least the posted minimum of $WHALE through the week. That's the whole eligibility check — your rank never changes.
GET PAID WEEKLY
Every week the pot settles to the top 20% of eligible players. Claim your prize on-chain, straight to your own wallet.
YOUR FIRST MATCH
Hit PLAY, pick a handle, and start with Ranked FFA. Recommended first five minutes:
- Eat the drifting food first. Motes and small prey are free XP — you're too small to fight anyone yet, and that's fine.
- Respect the size bar. Anything a tier above you hits harder than you do. Run first, feed, come back bigger.
- Watch the storm. The arena shrinks — getting caught outside it hurts more than any predator.
- Evolve early, fight late. Each evolution changes your reach and speed. The players on the weekly boards win by out-growing, not out-brawling.
Die, learn the map, go again — matches are short by design. When you can reach the mid tiers without being eaten, take it to the Survival gauntlet — that's where the weekly pot is decided.
WALLET & IDENTITY
You don't need an account to play — ever. A Solana wallet is only your prize identity: connect it in the hub and it becomes your claim address for pot payouts, your relic vault, and your holder profile.
- Connecting asks your wallet to sign one login message — a free signature that proves the wallet is yours. It is not a transaction and spends nothing.
- Prizes, relic withdrawals, and market purchases always settle to your own wallet. WHALEWARS never holds your funds.
- Your ladder rank is earned by play alone. The wallet check only decides whether your finish is prize-eligible — you need at least the posted minimum of $WHALE held through the week.
THE FOOD CHAIN
The food chain runs twenty-one forms deep, and every match starts you at the very bottom. Eat to gain XP, evolve to climb: Shrimp → Squid → Dolphin → Great White → Orca → Blue Whale → and beyond. Every evolution grows your body and extends your reach — bigger form, longer kill radius.
- Bigger = stronger but slower. Every tier trades agility for power. Top predators hit like a truck and turn like one.
- Everything is earned in-match. Every player starts every match as plankton. No purchased power, no head starts — the ladder measures play, nothing else.
- Past the Blue Whale waits the Kraken — and above it, one last form that stays a secret. Climb that far and find out who rules the abyss.
THE TWO LADDERS
RANKED FFA
8 whales, one shrinking storm, last titan standing. Every match moves your MMR on the ranked ladder.
The hub shows the top-10 board plus your own rank — you always know exactly where you stand and who's above you.
FFA is the proving ground — glory, rank, and the fastest way to learn the food chain. The weekly pot is decided next door in the gauntlet, and FFA has its own future ahead of it. Watch this space.
WEEKLY SURVIVAL GAUNTLET
Everyone races the same weekly seed — identical spawns, identical bosses, pure execution. Your best run of the week is the one that counts.
This is the money ladder: the weekly $WHALE pot settles on this board, and this board only.
Deep in the gauntlet the abyss sends its bosses — survive long enough and you'll meet the LEVIATHAN. Boss kills are also how relics drop.
Runs only land on the board after server-side deterministic replay verification: the server replays your inputs and confirms the score is real.
CONTROLS
| Mouse | Steer — your whale follows the cursor. |
| Left-click | Attack — your reach grows as you evolve. |
| Shift | Ranked FFA: sprint (burns XP — speed has a price). Survival: dash. |
| M | Mute audio. |
That's the whole kit. WHALEWARS is easy to pick up — the depth is in when you fight, when you flee, and when you evolve.
THE WEEKLY POT
WHERE IT COMES FROM
Every $WHALE trade generates creator fees. Those fees are split down the middle:
Half of every trade funds the pot — trading volume literally pays the players. The pot is exactly what the week's trading fills it with: big weeks pay big, quiet weeks pay less, and unclaimed or dust-sized allocations roll into the next week's pot.
HOW IT PAYS OUT
- The pot settles on the Survival gauntlet board only — one seed for everyone and every run replay-verified, so the money rides on a provably level field.
- The top 20% of eligible players get paid — not just the podium.
- A flat-deep curve: rank 1 takes the biggest slice, and it slopes gently — the last paid slot still lands a real payout. Slices too small to be worth claiming roll into next week's pot.
- A per-wallet cap keeps any single wallet from draining the pot.
- Settlement runs weekly. Winners self-claim through an on-chain Merkle distributor — non-custodial, your keys, your prize.
ELIGIBILITY
Three conditions, checked automatically — no forms, no applications:
- Play. Finish the week inside the top 20% of the Survival gauntlet board.
- Link. Have a Solana wallet connected to your player identity.
- Hold. Keep at least the posted minimum of $WHALE (a small stake — roughly $25 worth at launch) in that wallet through the week. The current minimum is always shown in the hub.
Selling below the minimum mid-week drops that week's eligibility — the hold is the whole point: the pot pays players who hold. Your rank on the boards is never affected either way.
CLAIMING
After weekly settlement, winners see CLAIM PRIZE light up in the hub. One click, one wallet approval, and your $WHALE lands in your own wallet — no middleman ever holds it.
- Claims stay open for a generous window; unclaimed and dust-sized allocations roll into the next week's pot, so nothing leaks out of the player economy.
- The full weekly distribution is published on-chain — anyone can verify every payout against the public leaderboard.
WEEKLY LICENSE
The license is the optional relic-hunter's pass, bought in the hub with $WHALE. It never grants power — combat stays pure — it arms the treasure side of the game:
- While licensed, your boss kills in the Survival gauntlet earn raffle tickets toward the weekly relic draw.
- Licenses expire weekly, matched to the prize cycle — one week, one hunt.
- More boss kills, more tickets, better odds. Skill still decides how deep you get.
BOSS RELICS
Relics are collectible trophies of the abyss — artifacts dropped from the weekly relic draw among licensed boss-slayers. Each one carries a rarity:
COMMON RARE EPIC LEGENDARY
- Won relics land in your Relic Hold in the hub, tied to your wallet identity.
- Withdraw a relic and it mints as an NFT to your own wallet — provably yours, tradable anywhere, or on the in-game market.
- Relic series are seasonal — when a series retires, its relics are never minted again. Watch announcements for new series.
RELIC MARKET
The market in the hub is player-to-player: list your relics at your price, buy others' finds, all settled in $WHALE.
- Every sale is verified on-chain before a relic changes hands — no honor system.
- A flat 5% market fee applies: 70% goes to the treasury, 30% is burned — removed from the $WHALE supply forever. Every trade makes the token scarcer.
- Prices are set by hunters, not by us. Rare pulls have found good homes.
THE $WHALE TOKEN
$WHALE is the game's token on Solana. It has one job on the play side and three on the prize side:
- It never gates play. Every mode is free for everyone, always.
- It gates the prize. Holding the posted minimum through the week makes your gauntlet finish prize-eligible.
- It funds the pot. Half of every trade's creator fee goes straight to the weekly player pot.
- It settles the relic economy. Licenses and market trades run in $WHALE, and 30% of every license and market fee is burned.
Connecting your wallet only signs a login message — it cannot spend your $WHALE by itself. Only purchases you start yourself move tokens.

FAIR PLAY
- Replay-verified runs. Survival scores are re-simulated server-side from your input log before they touch the board. If the replay doesn't reproduce the score, it doesn't count.
- One best run per week. Grind as much as you like — only your single best verified run represents you.
- Flat-deep payouts + per-wallet caps. The prize curve is built so farming clones mostly cannibalize each other instead of stacking a jackpot.
- Deterministic settlement. Same board, same pot, same result — anyone can re-derive the weekly distribution from the public leaderboard.
FAQ
Is WHALEWARS free to play?
Yes — completely. Every mode is open to everyone, no wallet, no token, no purchase. Crypto only enters the picture if you want to compete for the weekly prize pot.
Do I need crypto to play?
No. You only need a Solana wallet and the posted minimum of $WHALE if you want your gauntlet finishes to be prize-eligible. Your rank on the boards is earned by play alone either way.
How do payouts work?
50% of $WHALE creator fees fill a weekly pot. At settlement, the pot is split across the top 20% of eligible players on the Survival gauntlet board on a flat-deep curve — rank 1 gets the biggest share, but payouts run meaningfully deep. Allocations below a dust threshold roll into next week's pot. Allocations are published as an on-chain Merkle distributor.
Does Ranked FFA count toward the weekly pot?
No — the pot settles exclusively on the Survival gauntlet, where everyone races the same seed and every run is replay-verified before it touches the board. Ranked FFA is the proving ground: it moves your MMR and your place on the TOP WHALES board, and it has its own future ahead of it.
When do I get paid?
Settlement runs weekly. If you're in the money, a CLAIM PRIZE button lights up in the hub — you claim it yourself, on-chain, straight to your linked wallet. No middleman holds your prize.
How is cheating handled?
Survival runs are replay-verified: the server deterministically re-simulates your run from its input log and only verified scores reach the board. On the money side, per-wallet payout caps and the flat-deep curve make farming the pot a bad trade. No system is perfect — but every prize-relevant score is checked before it counts.
What is $WHALE?
$WHALE is the game's token on Solana. Holding at least the posted minimum (a small stake — roughly $25 worth at launch) in a linked wallet through the week makes you prize-eligible, and trading it is what funds the weekly pot — half of every trade's creator fee goes straight to players. It gates the prize, never the play.
How do I know a link or DM is really from WHALEWARS?
Check it against the official links above — that list is the whole truth. We never DM first, never ask for your seed phrase, and never run "surprise claim" links. The only contract address that counts is the one shown on whalewars.lol.
Do licenses or relics make me stronger in-game?
No — combat is purely skill-based and every match starts everyone as plankton. The license arms the relic raffle on boss kills; relics are collectible trophies you can hold, withdraw as NFTs, or trade. Nothing you can buy changes a fight.
